I've just got some fabric for a pioneer dress that I want to make. (Think early American, a smock and pinafore affair.) I've got some black poplin cotton for the dress and a heavy cream calico for the apron (nice and rough, while the cotton is soft and light so I won't suffocate). I'll have to sew it by hand since I don't have a sewing machine here at uni but it should be fun. The only drawback is there are buttons, which are the one thing I have real trouble with.

Anyway, the point of posting this here was to ask if any of you would be interested in seeing photos once it's done. I've never posted any sewing before, what do you think?

Anyone doing anything fun? I am a bitter spinster so I'll be holed up in my room all day, most likely. Bundles of fun! If you wish to pray to a patron saint for luck in love St Raphael is the one you want, not St Valentine, according to the Catholic Church.

This is mostly to get the woefully out of date September entry off my page.

So, tomorrow I must move in to university halls. I am... mildly apprehensive. I have no idea how much stuff I'm going to need or how much space I really have to put it in (largely because I don't remember whether I can fit boxes under the bed or not). Beyond where I get my key and where my welcome event is (and even that is only a room number; big help in a new campus) I have no idea where I need to be for the rest of the week. Or what sort of materials I'm expected to have. (I've taken pretty much everything I have, just in case.)

I take comfort in the fact that if I can't find enough space for all my books and junk I can always send some of it home with Mum, since she'll be helping me move in.

I'm totally going to starve without my family to remind me to eat.

At least I have some fun pictures to put on the wall.

My friend had this feature thing going in her journal and featured me, she said if we felt like it we should do it too, so here we are.

Does anyone else think this favourites-organising feature is incredibly fun? Any friends who've been round my house and seen me finding something on my 'uter will know that I obsessively organise things. Sub-folder after sub-folder, file after file, everything is put in groups and groups of groups. So now I'm all happy because I can obsessively organise my favourites! It's not as fun in the gallery because my own pictures all follow a certain set of themes, but my favourites are fairly eclectic. Now I can put all the fanart together, all the stuff that has me or my characters in it together, all the things I faved because they're all kinds of prettysome, the cute things, the cool things... Mwahahaha!!!
